HANDPICKED® Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie 2007

Handpicked Wines is pleased to announce the release of our Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie 2007.

This refreshing white wine comes from grapes grown in the 'Tre Venezie' - an area encompassing Alto Adige, Friuli, and Veneto - where it produces a light flavorful wine with bright acidity. This grape is also known as Pinot Gris in France.

“This Pinot Grigio is golden in colour with an aromatic bouquet with hints of white flower, apples and pears. This follows through on the palate with a medium body, lovely freshness and a persistent finish”

The Inaugural release of the Handpicked Signature Series just happens to be a Coonawarra Cabernet made for us by none other than Peter Douglas. The Signature series will remain true to our brand proposition of Regionally defined, single varietal wines and will reflect an outstanding wine made for us by an iconic winemaker from only the best vintage. We were delighted to receive a nomination for the George Mackay Memorial Trophy from the wine panel at the Australian Wine & Brandy Corporation. This Trophy is awarded at the end of each year to the wine which is judged to be the best Australian Wine exported within that given year.

2004 Handpicked Peter Douglas Selection Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills

Peter Douglas first achieved fame at Wynns Coonawarra Estate. His chardonnay is very sharp value. The bouquet of peach, butter and slightly sweaty notes has benefited from a little bottle-age. The palate delivers rich fruit with a suggestion of sweetness, which may come in part from quite high alcohol strength (14.3%), but it retains good balance along with flavour depth. It’s a drink-now wine which would suit serving alongside chicken cooked with apricots.

HANDPICKED® Yarra Valley Merlot 2006 was awarded the Best Label design for the wine show.
