Handpicked Shiraz

Region: Barossa Valley, South Australia

2007

The Barossa experienced good summer rains and mild ripening conditions. Following on from the great 2005 vintage, wines exhibit great depth, flavour and richness.

The Barossa is Australia's best-known wine region nestled 70 kms north of Adelaide. The Valley has a typical Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild winters - Harvest time brings with it, warm sunny days with temperatures in the low 30 degree Celcius producing highly concentrated, complex, rich, intense and full bodied Shiraz renowned worldwide as one of the best.

TASTING NOTES
The 2007 Barossa Shiraz is fierce deep red, almost cherry black in color. Classy on the nose with a deep mocha chocolate aroma with a subtle hint of spicy oak. Sophisticated on the palate with the rich and inviting palate with vast Barossa warmth and a bright intensity of flavour has evidence of shiraz spice, chocolate and delicate cassis which are mingled with soft, elegant but long tannins giving a persistence of flavour to please now and for the next five years.

FOOD MATCHING
Showing the classic richness of Barossa Shiraz, this wine will partner well with beef, full flavoured meat and poultry dishes or just perfect with a fine aged cheddar.
